In 1975, I was 15 years old and my favorite album was I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-To-Die.
Despite the fact that I’m a dedicated Deadhead, I prefer the music Country Joe and the Fish made in 1967 to the music the Grateful Dead made in 1967. I hope you enjoy my remix of Country Joe and the Fish’s second album.

I have made the following improvements over the commercial CD
On the unprocessed CD, the left and right channels are reversed. This does serious harm to the front-to-back stereo perspective.
The unprocessed CD has a slight misalignment in the timing between left and right channels, as well as different amounts of phase shift in left and right channels.
The unprocessed CD has a moderate amount of dynamic range compression. Ben has corrected this with a moderate amount of dynamic range expansion.
If you think this music sounds good in streaming MP3 format, you will be far more impressed with the sound quality of 24 bit WAV files. I strongly urge you to purchase your own copies of Country Joe and the Fish’s first two albums, and use the same tools I used here to render your own 24 bit WAV files.

Here is a link to a ZIP file that contains two Reaper Projects into which you can insert tracks ripped from your own CDs of these two albums. These project files contain the presets I created for each CD.
