Western Menu
Baked Cauliflower with Cheese
This dish goes well with Chicken Dijon, which can be found on the Western Menu.
- 1 head Cauliflower
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground White Pepper
- 1½ cups grated Swiss Cheese
Preheat oven to 375° Fahrenheit. Cut up the cauliflower into florets. Use only the florets, discard the stalks. Melt the butter and add the salt and white pepper. Pour the butter over the cauliflower and rub well to coat all the pieces. Sprinkle in the grated Swiss cheese and mix well. If you think this dish needs more cheese, go ahead and add it.
Put the mixture in a shallow greased baking pan and bake until the cauliflower is tender. Start testing for doneness after 30 minutes. You can test how soft the cauliflower is by sticking a fork into it.
